Protean 3 provides a safe and considerate way of taking care of those people at high risk of falling out of their bed. The Protean 3 is a true floor level electric bed which goes down to 85 mm. It is designed to reduce the risk of falls and the need for restraints. Protean 3 can be raised up to 785 mm which enables optimum high level working height to minimize back and other injuries for caregivers. Protean 3 has a user weight of 200 kg (SWL 250 kg).
The bed is always kept at its lowest height and only raised to its ergonomically correct caregiver height when the resident leaves the bed or requires attention. When Protean 3 is not used or needs to be transported it can be folded together to take up minimum space.
True, safe, floor level is below 100 mm, so even if a person is determined to get out of the bed they will only 'slide' out not drop or fall.
A full range of options and accessories are available including knee break, battery backup, self help pole, IV pole, multiposition "Push handle" and extension kit.
